The building’s story
In the early 1900s, people came here to work in the offices of a major paint factory. Today, behind the same red brick walls, 49 lofts have taken over, on rue du Centre, in the heart of Pointe-Saint-Charles.
Le Sherwill is the former Sherwin-Williams office building, designed by architects MacVicar and Heriot. It kept what gives a real industrial loft its soul: the brick and the timber frame. Converted into a condominium in the late 1990s, by architect Michel Léterneau according to a McGill thesis, it doesn't imitate old. It is old.
Across four storeys, no two lofts are quite alike. Some add a mezzanine, others make the most of a single open volume. Day to day, the building keeps things simple: elevator, concierge, storage, shared heating and hot water, and outdoor parking attached to certain units.
Step outside and you're in the Pointe at its liveliest. The shops of rue du Centre at your door. The Lachine Canal for morning rides or evening runs. Atwater Market across the water for Saturday groceries. And Charlevoix metro, on the Green Line, close by.
Le Sherwill speaks to buyers looking for a first loft with real character, to people who work from home and like room around them, and to anyone who would rather live somewhere that already has a story.
Every loft has a story. Le Sherwill's starts in the offices of a paint factory. Our job is to help you find the one that becomes yours. Olivier Mailloux and Amélie Flanagan, real estate brokers, follow the Pointe-Saint-Charles loft market closely and work with buyers and sellers across Montreal.

Your broker for this building
We know Le Sherwill.
We follow this building one listing at a time: the corner units, the floors that catch the sun, what the co-ownership fees actually cover. That’s been our specialty since 2010.
“My job isn’t to sell you this building. It’s to tell you honestly whether it’s the right one for you, or whether we should look elsewhere.”
Whether you’re comparing two buildings, ready to make an offer, or just curious what a loft looks like inside, we take the time it takes. No pressure.
