The building’s story
In the Sherwin-Williams paint complex, this building was the laboratory. A 1950s brown brick laboratory whose walls, according to a McGill thesis, reached 60 cm to withstand explosions. The walls are still here. Behind them, 41 lofts now line rue du Centre, facing Parc D'Argenson.
Of the complex's ten buildings, three escaped demolition. The lab was converted in 1999 by architect Michel Letourneau, who also signed the conversion of Le Sherwill next door. It was first known as Écolofts Argenson.
The project never tried to hide its age. The structure and brick shell were kept, then topped with a contemporary third floor, its rounded roof and stucco standing apart from the original brick. You can read both eras on the facade at a glance. Inside, the lab's generous heights made room for mezzanines in some units, and a few top-floor lofts open onto a rooftop terrace.
Day to day, the building rises just three storeys, with storage lockers in the basement, and indoor and outdoor parking attached to certain units.
Outside, the Pointe is a walking neighbourhood. Parc D'Argenson across the street, with its pump track and dog run. Charlevoix metro four minutes away on the Green Line. The cafés and tables of rue du Centre, then the Lachine Canal and Atwater Market for the weekend.
Les Lofts D'Argenson suit buyers who want a loft in a real industrial building without living in a tower, and anyone who likes having a park and a metro at the end of the street.
Every loft has a story. The one at Les Lofts D'Argenson starts in a paint laboratory. Our job is to help you find the one that becomes yours. Olivier Mailloux and Amélie Flanagan, real estate brokers, follow the Pointe-Saint-Charles loft market closely and work with buyers and sellers across Montreal.

Your broker for this building
We know Les Lofts D'Argenson.
We follow this building one listing at a time: the corner units, the floors that catch the sun, what the co-ownership fees actually cover. That’s been our specialty since 2010.
“My job isn’t to sell you this building. It’s to tell you honestly whether it’s the right one for you, or whether we should look elsewhere.”
Whether you’re comparing two buildings, ready to make an offer, or just curious what a loft looks like inside, we take the time it takes. No pressure.
