The building’s story

A door of your own on rue St-Patrick, old beams overhead, and the Bassin des Prêtres beyond the window. In 1854, John Redpath opened his sugar refinery here, on the Lachine Canal. For more than a century, sugar was refined on this site. The refinery closed in 1979.

In the early 2000s, developer Gueymard turned the site into condominiums, phase by phase, on plans by Groupe Cardinal Hardy. Phase A is the most intimate part of the project: a two-storey row at 1731 to 1751 rue St-Patrick, converted around 2004.

No long corridors here. Several units have their own private entrance, like a townhouse. Upstairs, ceilings reach up to 13 feet depending on the unit, with large windows and, depending on the unit, exposed brick and beams. Lofts range from 499 sq ft to 1,222 sq ft, with a few commercial spaces and studios on the ground floor.

Around it, the life of the whole Redpath: the rooftop pool, the gym, the hammam, on-site security, indoor parking depending on the unit, and access to the marina on the Bassin des Prêtres.

Outside is Pointe-Saint-Charles. The Lachine Canal bike path runs past the door, Atwater Market is just across the water, and the cafés of rue du Centre are a few streets away. Charlevoix metro is a 15-minute walk.

Phase A speaks to people who want the Redpath as a two-storey row: a door of their own, a few neighbours, and the water steps away.

Every loft has a story. Phase A's begins in a sugar refinery on the canal. Our job is to help you find the one that becomes yours. Olivier Mailloux and Amélie Flanagan, real estate brokers, follow the Pointe-Saint-Charles loft market closely and work with buyers and sellers across Montreal.

Your broker for this building

We know Le Redpath – Phase A.

We follow this building one listing at a time: the corner units, the floors that catch the sun, what the co-ownership fees actually cover. That’s been our specialty since 2010.

“My job isn’t to sell you this building. It’s to tell you honestly whether it’s the right one for you, or whether we should look elsewhere.”

Whether you’re comparing two buildings, ready to make an offer, or just curious what a loft looks like inside, we take the time it takes. No pressure.
