The building’s story

At 6740 Avenue de Gaspé, large windows and wood floors give each loft room to breathe. Facing Dante Park, this former industrial address is part of everyday life in Little Italy, a few streets from Jean-Talon Market.

Built in 1926, the building has a documented connection to Montréal’s glove industry: Gold Glove was listed at this address in a 1956 federal report on leather gloves and mittens. Its 2003 residential conversion introduced open interiors and layouts that differ from one home to the next.

The range includes compact homes of around 550 square feet and residences exceeding 1,000 square feet. Ceilings reach 11 feet in some ground-floor lofts, where generous windows bring light across the wood floors. Other homes extend over several levels, combining enclosed rooms with connected living spaces.

Some residences have private rooftop terraces, occasionally accessed directly from the kitchen or living area. Indoor garages and storage spaces are also associated with certain units. These features give each loft its own relationship between indoor and outdoor living.

Dante Park is across the street, and Jean-Talon Market is part of the neighbourhood’s walking routes. Little Italy’s shops and Beaubien métro station, approximately ten minutes away on foot, complete an address for those drawn to former industrial spaces and an active street life.

We follow this building one listing at a time: the corner units, the floors that catch the sun, what the co-ownership fees actually cover. That’s been our specialty since 2010.
