Les Lofts Landmark

In 1915, the P.T. Légaré Limitée store opened its doors at 1200 on what was then Amherst Street. It sold furniture, musical instruments, gramophones and even cars. More than a century later, the building is still here, in the heart of the Village.

Amherst Street became Atateken Street in 2019. The building itself changed purpose in the late 1990s: its declaration of co-ownership dates from 1999. It keeps a mixed use, with shops and services below and lofts mostly on the upper floors.

Nineteen residential lofts now occupy the five-storey building. According to our information, units range from about 875 sq. ft. to more than 2,200 sq. ft., and several have a mezzanine. Picture an open-plan living space under ceilings of about 10 to 12 feet on the upper floors, up to 15 or 16 feet on the top level and more than 17 feet in the mezzanine lofts, with brick walls, strip-wood floors and large windows depending on the unit. An elevator serves the building, and a shared terrace crowns the roof.

Miville-Couture Park is close by. Sainte-Catherine Street East, Old Montréal and Complexe Desjardins are all within walking distance. Beaudry metro station is about a 4-minute walk away, and Berri-UQAM is not far. The building also has 10 garages.
