The building’s story
In the 1930s, Quebec's largest food-preserving plant stood on Panet Street. Alphonse Raymond had built his jam and pickle factory there in 1913. At its peak it employed about 200 permanent and 800 temporary workers. The buildings are still standing.
The company closed around 1970. Today the former warehouse and boiler house, across Lalonde Street, house Usine C, a space for creation and performance. The factory at 1830 became a condominium in 2015. The declaration of co-ownership, published in 2016, dates the building to 1913 and 1955.
Inside, the original brick stays exposed in many units, along with exposed ducts and large windows. According to our information, ceilings range from 9 to 12 feet depending on the unit, and some units have a mezzanine. Units range from 366 sq. ft. to 1,491 sq. ft. Average condo fees are around $0.73 per square foot per month.
The building has four floors, an elevator, indoor parking and a courtyard garden. On the roof, there are shared terraces and an urban chalet. By servitude, the rooftop terraces, the courtyard garden and the wine cellars are shared with the B Loft on De la Visitation Street, the neighbouring building.
La Fontaine Park is 450 metres away and Beaudry metro station about 650 metres. Ontario Street is a few steps away, Usine C is across Lalonde Street, and the Village is a few blocks off.
This place speaks to people who want original brick, high ceilings and a Montreal industrial history, a walk from the park.
Every loft has a story. The story of the B-Lofts starts in a jam factory. Our job is to help you find the one that becomes yours. Olivier Mailloux, real estate broker, and Amélie Flanagan, real estate broker, work with buyers and sellers across Montreal.

Your broker for this building
We know Les B-Lofts.
We follow this building one listing at a time: the corner units, the floors that catch the sun, what the co-ownership fees actually cover. That’s been our specialty since 2010.
“My job isn’t to sell you this building. It’s to tell you honestly whether it’s the right one for you, or whether we should look elsewhere.”
Whether you’re comparing two buildings, ready to make an offer, or just curious what a loft looks like inside, we take the time it takes. No pressure.
