The architects preserved the historical charm by drawing inspiration from the original building when designing the 161 condominium units, including 15 townhouses. The new eight-story buildings house apartments with three, four, or five rooms, as well as terrace apartments. The old building, constructed in 1895 by the Sadler family, has been transformed into 17 loft-style units, with two additional stories set back from the street to minimize their visual impact.
The architectural project faithfully respects the character of the former factory. The height of the new buildings, the choice of materials, and the proportions of the façades were carefully designed to harmonize with the past. The openings and balconies were also treated with this aesthetic concern in mind.
One of the most remarkable features of the Le William complex is the peaceful and contemporary oasis of greenery located at the heart of the block. This green space was integrated with a commitment to sustainable development principles, aiming to reduce the urban heat island effect. The garden is accessible to all and visible from the staggered balconies that animate the new façades.
