History

Like many buildings on the Main, 4060 Boulevard Saint-Laurent is a building steeped in history. Built during the years 1911-1912, this large lot which forms the northwest corner of the boulevard was erected by the manufacturer Abraham M. Vineberg. The Vineberg Building, as it is known, is one of the first buildings in Montreal with an envelope and structure made of reinforced concrete. Such a composition allowed him to cross the 20th century without ever faltering!

Its architecture is inspired by the Chicago school, elegant entrance, large windows and impressive cornice, are elements that are still found today! Designed to house clothing factories, the building was renamed in 1950 under the name "Berman", a name it still bears 60 years later. It was around the 1980s that he found a more cozy vocation and after having belonged to a group of artists he gradually transformed himself into a co-owner and adopted his green color, a detail that made him famous.
Inside, there are real lofts inspired by New Yorkers. Some even say it's SoHo on the set! Spaces ranging from 1000 pc to more than 2000 pc, ceilings varying between 10 and 15 feet and huge windows letting a generous light from evening to morning filter. What can be better for people seeking freedom, creativity and comfort? Hardwood floors, concrete ceilings and exposed beams are in order and you can enjoy a certain calm, because in addition to good soundproofing several lofts overlooking Clark Street which is quite quiet.
85 units spread over 8 floors with of course the last penthouses. By becoming owner at 4060 Saint-Laurent, one also becomes among those who can offer each evening a glass of wine while contemplating an impregnable view on the mountain and its surroundings.
As in many buildings formerly privileged by artists there is a lift and landing dock, more usual you can also take the elevator that is available to residents. Recent roof and solid structure, this century-old building will be the pride of the Plateau for many more years!
