History

Built in 1946, this building housed a textile factory until the early 2000s. Since 2007, it has housed 34 lofts ranging from 430 to 1350 square feet. Most of the units are on two floors and the residents of the third floor have a mezzanine and access to a private roof terrace. Fabbrica, which means "factory" in Italian, is the project of architects Tudor Radulescu and Rami Bebawi, who have long been fans of the Mile-Ex neighborhood and decided to make it their first real estate project.

Located just west of St-Laurent Boulevard, the four-storey Fabbrica building is noticeable for its industrial style and its curved facade, which sets it apart from the other more square buildings in the area. With generous windows, wood ceilings up to 12 feet and original floors, the Fabbrica units will charm you at first glance. In the basement, occupants have access to a bicycle storage area, individual storage spaces and a common meeting room.

Mile-Ex, formerly known as Marconi-Alexandra, is an up-and-coming neighborhood located between Mile-End and Parc Extension. Formerly occupied by textile and food processing industries, it is gradually seeing its factories closed to make way for real estate projects.

Now recognized as one of Montreal's best neighborhoods, Mile-Ex stands out thanks to its location, its many restaurants, its proximity to the Jean-Talon market, public transportation and main roads.
